| Coach James Foreman from Tribe Chiefs in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma had an opportunity to see the true depth of character of the team he coaches with David Urmie. In the first 13 seconds of the Tribe's Worlds Finals performance in the Small Senior Limited Coed division, team member Taylor Sivard broke her arm in a fluke accident when two team members bumped into each other. Taylor had to leave the floor, but the team kept going until their music was stopped.
As the team exited the floor, Taylor, despite being in tremendous pain, put a smile on her face and asked to have the team brought over to her. Taylor encouraged them to re-group, re-focus and to give it their best as they pushed on to pursue their Worlds dream. |

| Germany's Cougars in the International Open All-Girl division placed second at Elite's European Cheerleading Championships held in Bottrop, Germany. However, when the first place team decided not to go, the Cougars got their bid in March 2009. This meant they had to change their routine from a Level 6 to a Level 5 in four weeks.
Cougars Coach Ani Brahin said, “It was a tremendous challenge to raise the money so fast and to get a new routine. We all are grateful for our parents support, plus we each invested our personal savings for this amazing opportunity.” |
